📓 THE INDEX LAYER — ENTRY 001

🍕 Who Decided Pineapple Belonged on Pizza?

Written by Samuel ✍️

🍍 Right...

Can we talk about this for a second?

Who actually decided pineapple belonged on pizza?

Like genuinely...

Who was sitting there looking at a perfectly good pizza and thought,

"Needs fruit."

Needs...

fruit.

Out of every possible topping...

we somehow landed on pineapple.

I'm just trying to understand the thought process.

🤨 It Was Already Fine

Pizza was doing perfectly well.

Bread.

Tomato sauce.

Cheese.

Pepperoni.

Chicken.

Mushrooms.

Peppers.

Even olives...

I'll tolerate.

But pineapple?

That's where I would draw the line.

Someone really looked at centuries of Italian cuisine and said,

"Respectfully...

watch this."

🍍 Leave the Pineapple Alone

Here's the thing.

I don't even blame the pineapple.

The pineapple was minding its own business.

Being a pineapple.

Existing peacefully.

Then someone dragged it into a lifelong argument it never asked to be part of.

Poor thing.

It's been defending itself ever since.

😂 Imagine Explaining This

Imagine explaining pizza to someone who's never seen one.

"So it's bread...

covered in tomato sauce...

cheese...

meat...

and fruit."

Fruit?

Yes.

Fruit.

No...

not tomatoes.

The other fruit.

The spiky one.

Honestly...

at that point I'd probably just leave the room.

🤝 People SOMETIMES Get Weirdly Defensive

This is what amazes me.

Mention pineapple on pizza...

and suddenly everyone becomes a qualified food critic.

People start defending toppings like they're defending their university dissertation.

Relax.

It's dinner.

Nobody's getting arrested.

Probably.

🍕 I'll Pass, Thanks

If you like pineapple on pizza...

good for you.

Eat it.

Enjoy it.

Order extra pineapple if it makes you happy.

Me personally?

I'll respectfully decline.

You can keep the pineapple.

I'd like my pizza to remain...

well...

pizza.

Thanks.

📌 Final Thoughts

At the end of the day...

people should eat whatever they enjoy.

Life's too short to argue over toppings.

That said...

if you decided to buy me pizza...

and I open the box to find pineapple smiling back at me...

I'm suddenly not that hungry anymore.

Respectfully.

Thanks for your kind gesture though.
